About the Piece

There’s nothing quite so nostalgic as the circus animal cookie—a combination of shortbread and sugar cookie, buttery and sweet, and frosted with pink or white icing with a scattering of rainbow sprinkles. Kids often fight or barter over the various animal shapes, which often include elephants, lions, hippos, cows, or camels (like this sculpture).

Measuring roughly 6x the size of its edible counterpart, Jonathan’s Circus Animal Cookie is a tribute to simpler times. The piece was skillfully crafted using various colors of polymer clay and baked to wistful perfection.
